Studio ByHaa and its Egyptian sister brand, Byhand African Artisans, are rooted in an unspoiled appreciation for genuine materials and craftsmanship.
Through decades of collaboration, the Danish design duo and the Egyptian artisans who form the backbone of ByHaa have cultivated a partnership which pushes the boundaries and perceptions of design and architecture, driven by an untamed curiosity.
Community
For us, the beauty of a design extends far beyond its immediate appearance. The true attraction lies in the unique qualities of the material, the hands of the builders or artisans, and the entire community that makes the handmade possible by honouring ancestral traditions and preserving techniques that have stubbornly endured in our fast-paced world.
Mission
Through our work, we aim to emphasise the raw beauty of our materials, through a process that is deeply community orientated. In doing so, we bridge cultural perseverance and vernacular techniques with a design approach that strips away unnecessary layers, leaving the objects to speak for themselves, uncluttered and honest.

I prefer to let Nature and intuition guide my design work. My ideas are shaped into spaces through an urge to create honest, live-able spaces that can allow for the imperfect while still honouring attention to every detail.

I'm at my best with one hand in the clay and the other on the keyboard, constantly balancing the digital work of the company with 'hands on' eco building. For me neither can stand alone, but together create my balance between vernacular and modern techniques and know how.
